Peter Romero

Project Manager

Peter has been in the industry for over 15 years and there is not much he hasn’t seen or done when it comes to lifting and moving. He was drawn to Two Way Cranes for a number of reasons.

“When I first spoke to Frank about joining Two Way Cranes, it was his passion for teamwork and treating everybody in the business with integrity and respect that really pricked my enthusiasm. The opportunity to work with a business that is an industry leader and places high demands on safety and communication with a range of Tier 1 clients and the best fleet capability in the industry was too good to pass up,” says Peter.

Peter has moved into project management after a long career as an operator and rigger for some of Australia’s leading corporations. The opportunity to move into a project management role has provided a unique avenue to bring his operational expertise to an environment where problem-solving through a combination of experience and collaboration is proving highly satisfying.

“Project management involves coordinating many moving parts. From traffic management, conflict resolution, engineering issues, liaisons, scheduling, quoting, developing lifting plans and working with the teams to ensure all is going smoothly, safely and on budget. It is very invigorating and I’m always tuned in to what is happening. Forecasting eventualities whilst problem-solving complex issues and developing high-performance communication techniques has been a real learning curve that I am fully invested in,” Peter says.

Peter takes personal pride in seeing a project come to fruition. It is a client’s feedback that he uses as the truth serum to his management of the project. He goes out of his way to speak with each client from inception to completion, ensuring that every touchpoint is being handled with care and respect. Whether the project is a small day procedure or an ongoing large-scale project, Peter is across all of the crane work responsibilities. His understanding of the role of other trades within a job site enables him to work proactively, predicting outcomes and communicating with project stakeholders.

“Being part of an organisation that works by its company values builds confidence. Many businesses talk about values, but only a handful work by them. Two Way Cranes is one of those businesses and it gives me great confidence when consulting with clients that the team will deliver on what we say we will,” he says.

When he’s not working on a project, you will likely find Peter catching a wave and spending valuable time with his wife and daughters including a little bub who has put a sparkle in his eye.
